Comparison: Wet N Wild coloricon versus Sally Hansen GEM crush

A few days ago I mentioned that some of the Sally Hansen GEM crush colors looked awfully similar to the recently released Wet N Wild coloricon colors. Here's a quick look at some of the close colors, and we'll see if they're really similar.

These look kinda similar ...

 And so do these ...

wet n wild coloricon It's All In The Cut (L), Sally Hansen GEM crush Be-Jeweled (R)
 And what about these?
wet n wild coloricon Rockin' Rubies (L), Sally Hansen GEM crush Cha-Ching! (R)
 There's more?!?

wet n wild coloricon Cost Is No Issue (L), Sally Hansen GEM crush Bling-tastic (R)
Come on! These are so similar you might as well give them the same name!

OK, not really on that last one. When I took the pictures I realized some aren't quite as similar as I first thought, but just in case someone else has the same idea, I figured I'd go ahead and compare anyway.

Battle #1: Wet N Wild ColorIcon Diamond In The Rough versus Sally Hansen GEM crush Black Diamonds.

On the first battle, I'd say they're pretty dang similar. I can't tell them apart personally. Sally Hansen Glitz Gal may be a tad darker, but otherwise I'd say if you have one, don't get the other.

Battle #2 = wet n wild coloricon It's All In The Cut versus Sally Hanson GEM crush Be-Jeweled

Yep, looks pretty much the same. No differences that I can tell.

Battle #3: wet n wild coloricon Rockin' Rubies versus Sally Hansen GEM crush Cha-Ching!

So this is one I mentioned that didn't look so similar after I took comparison bottle pictures. Wet N Wild coloricon Rockin' Rubies is a darker red glitter with holographic glitter, while Sally Hansen is a brighter orange-red glitter with larger silver glitter mixed in. Rockin' Rubies is more subdued, but I like the pop of Cha-Ching! Definitely not dupes though.

Battle #4: wet n wild coloricon Cost Is No Issue (L), Sally Hansen GEM crush Bling-tastic

wet n wild coloricon Cost Is No Issue (L), Sally Hansen GEM crush Bling-tastic (R)

After looking at these bottles, I realized these two were nothing alike. Cost Is No Issue is a fine turquoise glitter (leaning more green) with large bright blue glitter, while Bling-tastic is a medium aqua glitter with large silver glitter. Cost Is No Issue is obviously more opaque at three coats than Bling-tastic (although it may have been my bottle, but I couldn't get it to cover).

There you have it. Two that are super similar and two that aren't . Heh. 50% ain't that bad, right? Any other dupes out there for these polishes? These were the only ones that popped into my head, probably because they were done so close together. I recently got the China Glaze Eye Candy Collection (minus one that was sold out, dangit!) so I know there are some dupes in there that I will be comparing soon.

Hope you gals liked this or at least found it helpful!

  6. I just bought a bottle of the Sally Hansen today.. It was $8 a bottle which is pretty pricey.. If I saw the Wet n Wild I would've definitely gotten that
