Baby Bird Revisited

Hey ya'll! An update on the baby bird ...

Special thanks to Rebecca for letting us know what our little fella is - an American Robin fledgling. We didn't go out and try to rescue him, we just peeked out and checked on him a few times a day. =)

He's doing well. Momma still comes and feeds him ALL THE TIME. It's crazy. I can't help but wonder if he's getting fed more for some reason. Then again, I've never paid much attention to how much birds feed their young.

He's gotten braver and has now moved out from under the tree to the other side of the yard.

He's filled out and he's starting to get more color to his belly. His momma has a red belly on her.

Anyhow, that's him. He's doing well as you can see. My husband says he'll try to fly soon.

Shimmer Jasmine

This post is totally late! I tweeted about this polish awhile back to tease Alexis and then the pictures got lost in the shuffle. My bad.

Shimmer Jasmine is a gorgeous dense aqua glitter with light blue, green, red, and gold glitters. Possibly more colors, but I get a headache trying to sort them out.

Sally Hansen Salon Effects I Love Lacey

I decided while I was going to be on the road, I was going to try some Sally Hansen Salon Effects polish strips. I hadn't wanted to wear them yet because I wanted to see how long they would last, and I had been trying to do nail art and swatching like crazy to make up for my intended break. I'm just now getting to edit the pictures but I was impressed with these!

First, the necessary packaging pictures...

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Shadow Pencil in Morphine - Swatches & Review

I shared with ya'll the cream liners that Milani recently put out, and I wanted to share my Urban Decay one that everyone keeps comparing them to.

I have the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Shadow Pencil in Morphine - a light purple with a pale blue shift. It's like a lighter version of Ransom.

I will preface this post with the fact that I've had this product for awhile, and like any makeup hoarder collector, I used it a few times and then became distracted by other products. I think I have makeup ADD. Haha. MADD. Yep, I'm MADD. Anyhow, I remember it being more even and soft, but now it seems to have dried out a little. I'm not sure what the shelf life of these is, but they do change a little over time.

A Rhyming Dictionary Polishes - Swatches & Review

Hello lovelies! This is my 300th post! I kinda missed my 200th somewhere along the way, but I have a special post for you! A Rhyming Dictionary polishes! What better way to celebrate 300 than with glitter!

First, a teaser!

A little birdy told me

Is birdy spelled birdy or birdie? Birdey? I'm confused.

Anyway. This isn't a makeup or nail polish post. This post is about a little bird. My husband found him a few days ago. He fell out of his nest. We kept debating on going and getting him, but honestly, I'm not really sure what to do with a baby bird. What do you feed it? How much? How often? Where do you keep it? Etc. Momma bird was usually close by on the fence and once we saw her come back and feed him (her?) we just kept an eye on him.

Can you see him?

A little closer ...

How about a close up?

Ugly little bugger ain't he? Skinny and he looks like he has jowls!

I have no children or pets so this is as close as I've gotten recently to having someone/thing to show people, so you get lots of pictures today! Here he was running away from me. I had gotten a little too close.

Another close up, thanks to my new camera. He's kinda scrawny. If you can imagine a normal leaf shriveled up and fallen, you can see how little he is! I asked my husband how he can tell he's recently born and he said it's because he's got a fuzzy butt! Apparently butt feathers are the last to grow in. Who knew?

Running ....

He does blend well though! Poor guy. We don't seem to have any stray/loose cats in our neighborhood. I hear coyotes are out here, but not in the "city." Hopefully he does ok. His momma is doing well and she's usually standing guard.

We can't find a nest so I have no idea if he's the only one or the only one we found to have survived a fall. He is sitting under a large tree in our yard, so I'm assuming there is a nest up there.

Either way, that's all I have for ya! Little baby bird. Fingers crossed he does ok.

Max Factor Cool Jade

Thanks to Rainbowify Me, I have this pretty little number.

Max Factor Cool Jade is a gorgeous little dusty teal that is somehow casual enough to be an everyday color with maintaining a little edge. This was two easy coats. Average dry time. Very pleased with this polish!!

Please excuse the cuticles. Still working on getting them back into shape!

Deborah Lippmann Footloose

I do love a good red. To me, red is sexy, classy, and timeless, all at the same time. How many colors can you say that about?

Deborah Lippmann Footloose is an orange-leaning red creme that went on flawlessly. Below is two coats. There is a bit of a visible nail line, but that wasn't apparent in real life. It's bold but completely wearable.

Models Own Pastel Pink

I have another Models Own to show you today! I only have 4 so far, so now you've seen half of my Models Own collection!

Models Own Pastel Pink is a great bubblegum pink creme. This one went on well, and below is two coats. Other than the crazy chemical smell, I have no issues with these polishes.

Benefit Some Kind-a Gorgeous in Medium - Swatches & Review

Benefit Some Kind-a Gorgeous is a cool cream to powder foundation. Foundation faker. Or something.

I took some pictures of mine but they didn't turn out well, and by the time I got around to editing them, I had already finished it and tossed it.

So here is a picture courtesy of www.kissandmakeup.tv.

NOTD: Big Dots

I was messing around with some "nail art" if you'd call it that. I added a few big dots to my Models Own Orange Sorbet.

Walgreen's Haul

Moving to a small town has really put a damper on my hauling. Now I have a single Walmart. The closest Walgreen's is 40 minutes away. While I had to go take some photographs for my new job awhile back, I of course took the opportunity to stop at the Walgreen's on the way to see what they had.

THIS is what happens when you deprive someone too long from being able to window shop. I bought so many things that just looked interesting...

Models Own Orange Sorbet

I don't own very many Models Own nail polishes, but I was lucky enough to snag a few from a blog sale earlier this year from Raych over at Polished Criminails. This is one of the ones I snagged.

Models Own Orange Sorbet is a gorgeous bright orange. It looks a little more neon in this picture than it is in real life, but it's definitely a head turner. Traffic cone orange. Are traffic cones orange in countries other than the US?

Almay Smart Shade Makeup in Light/Medium - Swatches & Review

Almay came out with a new foundation awhile back named Smart Shade Makeup. It's supposed to change once applied to the skin to your perfect color. It has FlowErase technology. Whatever that means. Here's what Almay has to say about it ...
"finally a makeup that takes the guesswork out of finding your perfect shade. breakthrough shade-sensing technology instantly adjusts to the color of your skin. the lightweight formula starts out white and adjusts to right. formulated with an antioxidant blend of grape seed, ginseng, and ginkgo biloba to nurture your skin. for a beautiful, natural finish every time." http://www.almay.com/products/face/foundation/smart-shade-makeup.aspx
It's available in a few colors, and I mean a FEW. As in three. Light, Light/Medium, and Medium. Three. Thazzit.

This is the one I used, Light/Medium 200. I'm essentially a MAC NC20, Bare Escentuals Golden Medium/Light, Revlon Color Stay in Sand Beige, MUFE HD Sand, etc etc. Light with yellow undertones basically.

2 Picks from OPI Nice Stems Collex

I know these are super old polishes in the nail polish world, but I didn't get them until recently when I spotted them at a local grocery store, so I'm sharing the with you now!

OPI Be A Dhalia Won't You? is a gorgeous glass fleck vs foil bright pink. Beautiful formula, self-leveling, and the brush is freaking fantastic. Every time I use an OPI I get why people rave about their polishes.

Sinful Colors Ciao Bella!

I have another pretty blue polish for you today! I can't get enough of them.

Sinful Colors Ciao Bella! is a gorgeous deep, crisp blue with tons of shimmer. If you get enough light reflecting off the polish, it can look aqua (as seen in the bottle of the first picture) but it's really all aqua shimmer. I tried to limit the direct light on the nails so you can see the outrageous shimmer it has!!

Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes Eyeliner

Do you struggle with eye makeup migrating under your eyes in hot weather? Or even in cool weather? I know I do. I appreciate that my oily skin theoretically makes my skin less wrinkled, but honestly, I'd like to be able to wear eye shadow or base for more than a few hours before it's dripping down my cheeks.
