I recently heard about these and (by chance!) found them while perusing the shelves of a local drugstore. I wanted to do a quick preview to share the colors!
The formula on these was nice. Not runny, but it was thin. Sparse at first but built nicely, most of them were opaque at three coats.

Some quick teasers...

Sally Hansen GEM crush (Glitz Gal, Showgirl Chic, Bling-tastic, Be-Jeweled) |
|
Sally Hansen GEM crush (Cha-Ching!, Lady Luck, Razzle Dazzler, Big Money) |
Close up of the brush. This is the same brush as the Insta-Dri polishes - flat and wide. I like it.

On to the good stuff! Single nail pics of the colors. Yay!
|
Sally Hansen GEM crush Glitz Gal |
Sally Hansen GEM crush Glitz Gal is a dark gray fine glitter with large holographic glitter.
|
Sally Hansen GEM crush Showgirl Chic |
Sally Hansen GEM crush Showgirl Chic is a fine silver glitter with large bright blue glitter. I had crazy de ja vu when I painted this one. Has there been a recent release of a similar color? I can't put my finger on it, but it's driving me crazy!
|
Sally Hansen GEM crush Bling-tastic |
Sally Hansen GEM crush Bling-tastic is medium aqua glitter and large hexagonal silver glitter. This one gave me problems. The above picture is actually four coats. It's super thin, doesn't spread easily, and isn't near being opaque at all. I don't know if it was my bottle or a weird formula, but I didn't even get any silver on my nails until the third coat, which is why I did a fourth. And the silver hexagonal glitter looks like bald spots in the polish, no matter the lighting or the angle.
|
Sally Hansen GEM crush Be-Jeweled |
Sally Hansen GEM crush Be-Jeweled is a fine purple glitter with larger light pink glitter. I really like this one.
|
Sally Hansen GEM crush Lady Luck |
Sally Hansen GEM crush Lady Luck is a fine magenta glitter with large holographic hexagonal glitter. This is the other one that gave me problems with application. It was very sparse and hard to get good coverage. This is also four coats and it's still uneven.
|
Sally Hansen GEM crush Cha-Ching! |
Sally Hansen GEM crush Cha-Ching! is a bright orange-red fine glitter with large silver glitter. This one was a surprise. I adore this one.
|
Sally Hansen GEM crush Razzle Dazzler |
Sally Hansen GEM crush Razzle Dazzler is a light golden pink with large silver glitter. This one is also a surprise. I thought it would be plain but it's gorgeous!
|
Sally Hansen GEM crush Big Money |
Sally Hansen GEM crush Big Money is a fine gold glitter with large light purple glitter. This one is also a surprise. I thought it looked a little strange but it's gorgeous. Love!
Out of all this glittery goodness, I think Razzle Dazzler, Be-Jeweled, and Showgirl Chic are my favorites!
So ... are you thinking what I'm thinking? Have you seen some of these before? Maybe in a recent post? Here's a hint ...
I'm going to have to do a comparison soon as a few of these colors look really familiar!
I got mine at Walgreen's where they retail for $6.99/ea (I was lucky and got a $1 coupon EACH from the clerk! Thank you clerk!)
showgirl chic is basically EXACTLY china glaze's lorelei's tiara :]
ReplyDeleteSarah-Yes! Thank you!! Finally. Ha. =)
ReplyDeleteYep, you'll find some dupes; I did. Still don't regret buying the Sally Hansens, though. :)
ReplyDeleteKaren-yeah I've already found a few. And some that I thought were dupes but turned out not to be. I still love em though!
ReplyDeleteI love Glitz Gal and Showgirl Chic...and I love that Showgirl is a dupe for Lorelei's Tiara :D
ReplyDeleteWOW! These polishes are amaaaazing! *Drool* (*.*)
ReplyDeletebig money and show girls chic! amazing!
ReplyDeleteWhimsicalglam-Me too!
ReplyDeleteKirshten-I know, they're so great.
Kelly-I agree! My friend wants to wear Big Money for New Year's. I think it's a good choice.
This is awesome! Love your review!
ReplyDeleteNail Reflections-Thanks! I'm glad it was well received.
ReplyDeletethese are so pretty, I love them
ReplyDeleteShannara-thanks! Me too!
ReplyDeleteThese are all so amazing! I think I like Cha-Ching the best; it reminds me of ChG Love Marilyn. Great review!
ReplyDeleteCourtney-Sounds like I'm going to have to do a comparison soon ... =)
ReplyDeleteI love this collection!!!! And I dont' know about everyone else, but they have my favorite brushes. I love those flat wide ones.
ReplyDeleteThey look great but peel off really easy, it's almost if the polish just sits lightly on the nail. Pinky nails the whole polished peeled off in one piece just taking a shower. I even did a diamond hard top coat Had it on for 12 hours and already have had to redo 3 times and that's just from normal daily stuff and working at a computer.
ReplyDeleteI got glitz gal, showgirl chic and big money. I LOVE THEM!!! There are some similars, but not so much dupes. The coverage on these is unlike I've seen on other glitters/flakes.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I have seen these in CVS and I wondered what they actually look like. SO pretty!
ReplyDeleteOOOOOOOOH, SO BEAUTIFULLL
ReplyDeleteso beautiful collection . i want thm :))
ReplyDeleteI really love Lady Luck & Big Money - they're so pretty.
ReplyDeleteOh & Show Girl looks to me to be a dupe for Loreli's Tiara from the China Glaze Eye Candy/Marylin Collection.
