July Julep Maven - American Beauty

I love getting my monthly goodies from Julep! It's like my birthday every month. I'm an American Beauty, so I received three polishes and one lip gloss. And some candy. Fireballs - yum!

Julep America-The Beautiful is a gorgeous red microglitter with small silver glitter,  medium blue glitter, and silver stars. Very dense, opaque at three coats, but you can likely get away with just two. I LOVE this polish. It's like something the indie makers would out out. Gorgeous. Completely. This is the polish I wore for ya'll yesterday. I will say that it'll seem really clumpy around a silver star and I had to "brush it off" so the other glitters wouldn't bury the stars...

I love how you can see gold glowing from inside this mani in the pictures. Not evident in real life. I have no why it did that... This is a little more red-orange than what it would be alone because of the base color I used.

Julep Yumi over Julep Lynn

Julep Lynn is a pink-leaning nude with a pearl finish. Three coats are needed to make this opaque and brush marks are still a pain on the nail. This one gave me the most problems, as it was thick and goopy. Bleh. But on the nail, the color is nice.

Julep Yumi is a gorgeous neutral opalescent glitter with holographic glitter. Very pretty, and very gorgeous over neutral but pearly Julep Lynn. These two were made for each other. Unfortunately, this polish was also very thick and goopy. It's like they need thinner. Glitter was dense but hard to cover because of the thick base.

Julep Peony
Julep Peony

Julep Peony is like Julep Lynn for the lips - it's a pink leaning nude creme lip gloss. Thin and runny, but pretty color. I can see it making some people look like a mannequin due to it canceling out any lip color you have naturally. As you can see, it can settle into fine lines or bleed, so making sure you've exfoliated and moisturized is key! Maybe a little lip liner under to help control it would be best.

Julep products are available at www.julep.com and polishes are now available at www.Sephora.com!

If you're not familiar with Julep Maven, it's a monthly subscription service that sends you polishes (and other things - lotions, scrubs, files, sunscreen, lipgloss, etc.) based on a style quiz you do at the beginning.
