I have the Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette today! I know this is super old but I put this aside to swatch before I played with it, and then kinda forgot about it. I must be losing my mind because just look at these beautiful shadows!
It comes in insanely awesome packaging - like true Urban Decay style. It's in a sturdy box with a lacelike pattern on the side and reflective top with jeweled "ud" on the top. You open it up and there's another lid to take off, but the bottom - it's lined with royal purple velvet. Very luxurious. They spared no detail on this one.
Closer looks at those purty eye shadows... The names alone are awesome. Tainted. Omen. Junkshow. Those names are genius.
I really wanted the palette specifically for Omen and Deep End. But let's be real for a minute, I would have bought it anyway. I mean look at all the purple packaging and shimmery eye shadow.
I'd describe the colors but, well, there they are. I want to put some fun eye looks together, but I haven't thought of any good ones yet. Deep End and Tainted are calling my name!
As always, great pigmentation and color pay off (except Tainted, those are really heavy swatches you see) fall out with the glittery ones, and lots of shimmer and only ONE matte. Even thought I love my shimmer, I like a nice matte color to match with intense lips, and I don't get that from my Urban Decay palettes. There are definitely some unique shadows in here I don't have anything similar in my stash, and that Deep End is just breathtaking! I did see some shadows that are similar to other ones on my stash, so I'll be comparing some shadows for you guys in a future post.
Any suggestions for looks or color combos? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
This is a limited edition palette, and I don't see it on the Urban Decay website, but it is available at www.Sephora.com for $55 here.
And just an FYI, Urban Decay is no longer cruelty free, as I'm sure you all know with all the drama lately. =( You can check out some editorials on Kat O Nine Tales and Killer Colours and the original press release has been taken down but you can view it here at Temptalia's blog. For a list of cruelty free brands, you can check out PETA.org.
P.S. I have depotted this palette into a Z-palette and here is what it looks like! Please excuse my mess - it was right after I was done. This palette is lower left, lower right is the BoS IV (I believe), and some other random ones. LOVE these palettes - this is like 3 palettes in less than the space of one. True travel friend. =)
Gorgeous palette and gorgeous shades! I would love to see some looks created with these :)

ReplyDeleteI love this set! Got it when it came out, this palette solves my packing problems! When going away I always had to bring my naked palette and a book of shadows with bright colours to have a good selection, this combines both!! LOVE it! xo
ReplyDeleteJUNKSHOWWW. <3 And they're not cruelty-free anymore?? That's kind of a bummer... :\

Wow!! If I had the money just laying around, I'd be all over that! That's one of my favorite things about makeup, is coming up with awesome ways to play up my eyes :)
ReplyDeleteThe z-palette looks nice!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I'm just curious as to how you depotted the Anniversary palette. I've depotted many palettes before but this one is giving me trouble. If you could let me know how you did it, that would be awesome, thanks :)
