Empties - Jan/Feb

Was waaaaaay late on my Jan Empties post so I just put Jan and Feb together. Not too shabby eh?

1. Neutrogena naturals fresh cleaning + makeup remover. Fantastic gentle face wash and I love that it gets the makeup off too. Verdict: Repurchased already.
2. Garnier Olia Color Conditioner. Dyed my hair red. Then brown again. Long story. Great little packet of conditioner. Verdict: Won't repurchase as not available by itself and I'm fine with my conditioners.
3 & 6.Wen Sweet Almond Mint Syling Creme. Didn't number these well. Oops. Enjoyed the creme, kept my curly hair curly without being crunchy. Didn't like the smell much but it faded after being applied and couldn't smell it anymore. Verdict: Won't repurchase, too expensive.
4. Aussie Sprunch. I can get past the coconut smell but it made my hair sticky and stiff and crunchy. Plus the nozzle kept clogging. It's still half full but I'm tossing it because I'm tired of unclogging the sprayer. Verdict: Won't repurchase.
5. Evoo & Moringa Repair & Extend Conditioner. Love. Bought off iHerb. Left my hair soft and silky and detangled. Verdict: Will likely repurchase when I need more conditioner.
7. Everyday Minerals Face Powder. Great setting powder, can build up easily and look very cake-y. Verdict: Won't repurchase.
8. Wet N Wild Mega Liner. Dried up so I'm tossing it. Was fine to wear, nice and cheap. Verdict: Won't repurchase, I have plenty of liners and wasn't that special.
9. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. Giving this one away. It runs like crazy on me. I have trouble applying on my small eyes with sparse lashes with this crazy bushy brush. Didn't do a lot for my lashes. Verdict: Won't repurchase.
10. Hard Candy Glossaholic Chill Out. Giving away. Sticky and strong vanilla smell. Holo particles are fun but a but young for me. Hopefully a friend's daughter in middle school will enjoy it! Verdict: Won't repurchase.
11. Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer. Supposed to be good for oily skin, it was fine but didn't see a huge difference in oil, makeup lasting time, or pores. Expensive! Verdict: Won't repurchase.
12. Hanae Mori. LOVE THIS SCENT. My husband likes it too. Going on my list of perfumes to purchase. Light and sweet with some musk, which is so my style. Verdict: Will purchase at some point.
13. Michael Kors Very Hollywood. Nice scent. Strong floral, not my taste. Verdict: Won't purchase.
14. Dolce & Gabbana L'eau The One. My fav perfume. See above description. Sweet, musky, and soft. Very feminine and sultry. Finished this while out of town, hence the different pic. Verdict: Repurchased already.
15. Aveeno Naturals Positively Radiant Intense Night Cream. Love this stuff. Even with my oily skin that breaks out like crazy, it soaked in to my skin within 5 minutes and didn't aggravate my skin. I slathered it on at night before bed and even on really dry mornings I could put a little on the dry spots and it would soak in quickly and not affect my makeup. It was heaven sent while in Denver, CO during January where the cold and dry weather wreaked havoc on my skin. Verdict: Will repurchase, if I can find it! I've been looking everywhere.

15 items in 2 months isn't too bad eh? I'm slowly working my way through the huge stash I've acquired. Hopefully March will be good too! I'd placed myself on a mini purchasing ban but that went out the window with a recent special at CVS.

P.S. I have no idea what that polish was that I was wearing. Had a mani/pedi and it was an OPI color. I wish I had bought it. I felt expensive wearing it haha. So eye catching!

For The Twill Of It

Hello lovelies! I'm sorry I've been MIA, been busy with stuff. Still painting my nails, just slacking on posting. Internet is shotty out here in the country and when I have time to post, I have no internet.

ANYWAY.

Essie For The Twill Of It is an awesome multi chrome polish.  Love.  Absolutely Love.  Dark and dirty but still fun and colorful. Most duo/multichromes I have a love/hate relationship with because they look great in the bottle but fall flat on the nail.

Essie For The Twill Of It

This polish looks great on the nail at ALL angles. Fabulous.

Essie For The Twill Of It

Looks mainly like a dirty silvery grey but at angles looks purplish maroon. In dim lighting it takes on a greenish/turquoise shimmer. You can see a little of it in the pic below on the bottle. I couldn't get a shot of that color.

Essie For The Twill Of It

Please excuse the extremely cold hands. This weather is crazy.

I know this is an oldie but I finally wore it and I love it. Might be a top 10 polish!

2015 Valentine's Day Challenge - Love & Kisses

Happy belated Valentine's Day! I'm here, late again, for the last installment of the Valentine's Day Challenge. My life has been so hectic recently, which is not a good excuse because everyone is busy, am I right? Alas, here I am, with my last mani anyway.

I did a pink french tip with fun hearts that ended up look like stickers.

French tip color is Color Club Ultraviolet. Hearts were done with black acrylic paint and Color Club Foil Me Once. I love that color for nail art! It's gorgeous and opaque. Easy to work with.

Below is a picture inside in dimmer light with Color Club Ultraviolet. I love the turquoise sheen.

This was a fun challenge and even though I didn't quite finish it with the group, it was a blast. Hope everyone else enjoyed it as much as I did.

2015 Valentine's Day Challenge - Roses

Everything is coming up roses - isn't that the saying? Love it.

I chose to do a lilac one brush stroke rose. At my wedding, I held sterling roses. They are so beautiful.

Base color is Glitter Gal Suede 3D/Holo. Very pretty neutral medium brown/tan with white and purple water-based, nontoxic acrylic paint using the one stroke technique. There are tons of tutorials and videos on this technique if you haven't seen how to do it yet!

I think my thumb and forefinger had the best roses.

Purple is always so hard to capture correctly. Here is an inside picture (plus a striped sock in the background! ugh) that shoes the purple better.

Picture of my right hand. My left hand is not as good at nail art and it turned out more like multicolored blobs, but they were good enough to wear to work!

2015 Valentine's Day Challenge - Red Passion

Hello lovelies! Halfway through the challenge already, can you believe it? Time flies, that's for sure.

Today is Red Passion. For some reason, when I think of intense passion, I think of black and red. It might be because those are my husband's favorite colors in combination.

I chose to do a simple black nail with Wet N Wild Black Creme with a glitter gradient of Wet N Wild On The 101. Please excuse the extra dry skin. I just washed my hands from doing my makeup and didn't notice it until I started editing pictures... Gotta love macro.

I'm still working on these glitter gradients. They're tough to get right.

My thumb was my favorite. More nail space to get a good gradient. There would be ore pictures but I smudged them while photographing. How exactly, I have no idea.

I'll show you one anyway, just for effect. Squint a little and you might not notice the smudge! haha
