Halloween Nail Art Challenge: Blood

Hiya gorgeous! I'm back with the Halloween Nail Art Challenge. Today's theme is blood!

I had originally wanted to do a red splatter mani but I've seen it fairly recently to commemorate the Dexter season premier, so I wanted to do something a little different. I tried to do a sugar spun mani, but I couldn't get the stupid polish to thicken enough to really get the strips on the nail. So I just globbed it on the nail sporadically. =P

I didn't use a topcoat to keep the goopy texture to make it look more like fake blood!

Products Used:
Sally Hansen Miracle Growth
Sally Hansen Malt
Deborah Lippmann Footloose

I decided to include the swatch picture in with these so I don't keep boring you with a swatch of a color you've seen under my nail art! Voila! Sally Hansen Malt is a great neutral beige. Lovely work color. Just enough peachiness to not give me mannequin nails. It doesn't make my fingers look as dirty as they do below, I took this early morning outside and my fingers were freezing!

    1. Isn't it? I picked it up randomly in a 5 pack at Big Lots for $8 so it was super cheap, so I figured, why not? I'm really happy I grabbed it, and it looks great with the mani!

  7. Such an effective look for Halloween. Did you let the polish thicken first or apply it straight onto the base?

    1. Haha, thanks honey! I let it thicken a bit and tried to do the sugar spun method, which is where you let it thicken until it creates strings when you pull away from the polish. My strings kept breaking, but when I kept trying, it just globbed on! =)
