Bath & Beauty Products Stash Craziness

While I was doing my previous post on April's Goodbyes, I decided I needed to take a good look at all the products I have to make myself realize it's way too much. And because it's crazy, I thought I'd share. I'm a blogger, it's what I do. I take pictures of my life and share them so people can feel better about their own neuroses.

So now ya'll can see the insane amount of products I own and use...

Bath Products
Yes, that's SIX bottles of Wen Cleansing Conditioner. This doesn't include what I have in my shower. I figure this stuff isn't a big deal, I go through soap and shampoo pretty quickly, but I'm not sure I'll use all of this before I move...

Hair Products
Yes, I own a freakishly large number of hair products for someone that doesn't fix her hair more than once a month. I may put product to limit frizziness, but otherwise, nada! It's a mixture of gels, mousse, leave in treatments, smoothing creams, volumizing products, hairspray, and oils. I will say that I do like the Aussie Catch the Wave (leave in conditioner + mousse), Tresemme Fresh Start dry shampoos (I have the mousse for curly hair but I had the spray for oily hair that I used up already), and Nexxus volumizing mousse.

Skincare/Cleansing
I forgot to include makeup remover in here, but otherwise, this ain't bad. Bare Escentuals for combo skin is my fave. I can tap some BE mineral foundation in it and make tinted moisturizer - score!

Primer / Foundation / Blush / Powder
Who needs nine different foundations? I do apparently. Two mineral, one tinted moisturizer, one cream compact, and five liquid foundations. I have tons of different primers and foundations because I keep looking for something that will give me good coverage and not melt on my oily skin. I'm still searching ...

I am almost done with a blush and compact foundation. And I've hit pan on my Too Faced Candlelight powder. The NARS duo is still almost new though. I don't use it much. Out of sight, out of mind I guess.

Lips
This is one I'm concerned about. Not the amount, because really, I love buying new lip stuff, but all the colors look so similar. It's all variations of pink and red with a little iridescent or purple in there. I guess lipsticks aren't as varied as eyeshadow colors though. Mostly Buxom (LOVE their glosses) and Milani Lip Flash pencils (swatches and review here) with some random others mixed in. I have a ton of mini glosses because I don't ever use an entire product up so I prefer to get more colors than a larger size. I really need to start taking these to work. I generally just put carmex on in the AM and carry a chapstick with me during the day... Ridiculous.

Eyes
You know, I thought I had more eye products than this. Is it bad that I don't think this is that much? Right? Anybody? For as much eyeshadow in varied colors that I have, I wear mostly neutral single/double tones on a daily basis.

Oops! Forgot this Z-palette I depotted shadows into!
I forgot this baby!

And a Uni palette!
Wet N Wild Comfort Zone palette that is going to get tossed because those pans keep cracking and getting everything dirty.

New stuff!
And more new stuff I forgot I had. It was on the table awaiting swatches before I got into and played with them! I can't believe I forgot I had NAKED2.

So, what do ya'll think? Do I have more than any one person should or is this nothing compared to your stash? Is it crazy I have this much considering my daily routine is not fixing my hair and neutral face? I'm starting to think I'm a little crazy ....

P.S. Since I took these photos last week I've added more stuff! Sigh. Will I ever learn? And the fact that I went shopping yesterday at Sephora and CVS, does that negate my starting a Project 10 Pan since I just added a lot of makeup and bath products to my stash? =) I'm not sure I could make it an entire 10 products unless it included samples!!

  5. You really don't have an insane amount. I have a lot of stuff. I have so much that I am buying a whole system to organize everything. The reason why I tend to buy so much of is:

    1. I love makeup
    2. I kinda collect makeup
    3. Having a blog makes me want to have a variety of products so I can share with my readers.

I hope this helps you so you don't feel like you have to much. Ha, nowI feel like a have too much lol

    1. I was actually a little shocked at the number of foundations. I debt think I had that many but almost three of them are done.

    1. It did feel sort of cleansing to take a good look at all the stuff I have. Now when I see stuff I want I remember all this and put it back on the shelf!

  10. OMG, you have a lot. But actually I have the same amount from nail polish. We are women, we need to have much, no?

    1. I agree. It's our right as women to have lots of beauty things. And my nail polish stash is just as bad. Maybe worse.

  11. Mmmmmmmm, I see Lush soaps in there. I freakin love Snowcake and Ice Blue! (I used to work at Lush so I haven't completely given up my habit haha) I think that's why I love Smitten so much; it works well enough, but it smells like Snowcake!

How do you like the Naked2 palette?

  12. I'm like you, except for the foundations. I only wear tinted moisturizer because I have very sensitive skin and I have a hard time trying new stuff. I have yet to find some concealer that fits my sensitive skin too. I need more eye shadow for sure.
    Thanks for sharing.

  14. OMG! :))) But I know how it is... I buy so much beauty stuff and I don't use most of it =)) Except hair products! I have more than you in that compartment but I use them all! Lol :P I think we're just crazy that way, right? :)

  17. Is it wrong that my first thought when I read this post was, "Oh thank goodness I'm not the only one!"? Would it bring you any comfort to know that you are not alone, and that my stash is likely larger than yours? I'm beginning to think it is mental illness! I always want to try the newest products, but that never gives me a chance to finish the old ones. And then there tends to be my "go to" products that I use every day, and then ignore/forget the new ones. Oh boy. Think maybe we could start a support group?
