Quick Fix It for Sheet Marks + Haul!

So when I put on Essie Sand Tropaz (second time wearing, and no swatches, darn!) I tried a different topcoat than my usual Seche Vite. I let it dry for an hour (maybe longer, I swearz) which I thought it was long enough, and then went to bed. And this happened ...

Essie Sand Tropaz (with sheet marks!)
Dang sheet marks. I was so bummed when I woke up. I KNEW I should have taken pictures beforehand but I was too tired. And I ruined it. I wore it anyway, haha. It wasn't too noticeable.

But there's something fun that I found out. I may be the last to figure it out, but a flakey topcoat on marked up nail polish makes it look brand new! You can't tell it was smudged and marked up. It smoothed everything out!

Essie Sand Tropaz + Essie Shine of the Times

I don't know if they're thicker than regular topcoat or the flakies camouflage any unevenness but I couldn't even tell anything was wrong with the polish underneath.

Have you guys ever noticed this? Any other fixes for screwed up manis?

And a sneak peek at a haul from this weekend ... I was having a bad week so what better way to fix it than retail therapy? =) I think I'm single handedly helping the economy. Haha

A few Essie, because there was a coupon ...

Look what they started carrying at my local Walgreen's...

Yep, another Whimsical. I found two, again, at the same store! I feel like I'm stocking up on them! What to do with them, what to do ...

Oh yes, that's Cinderella you see! Only one left!

I started using the Hard As Hoofs yesterday, so we'll see how it goes. Nice haul if you ask me. I'm excited about all my goodies!

  5. So much eye candy! That's a great idea, it makes sense that flakies help hide marks, just adds dimension and shine :) Great tip!
