Update

Hello lovelies.

I'm so sorry I've been MIA. Things have been really busy at work and we're trying to get our old home ready to sell and buy a new one (in different states) and it's been a little overwhelming.

Since I've moved to a colder climate, the dry air is wreaking havoc on my hands and for those of you who know a little more about me, I'm in the medical field so I'm washing my hands or using alcohol based foam every 15-20 minutes so my hands and nails are a HOT MESS. I've had nekkid nails for weeks. Eek!

These are all poor excuses for being a bad blogger, and I wanted to let ya'll know I'm still here and I <3 ll.="ll." p="p" ya="ya">
I've also developed some apprehension toward my blog due to some unkind comments on here and it started making me feel bad about myself. I know I don't have amazing nails like the big known bloggers, and lately I've been getting down on myself and my blog so I haven't been going near my computer lately.

In the meantime I'm going to work on editing some photos/posts I have squirreled away for such times and hopefully get back to business!

Hope all is well with each and every one of you!

  1. I've missed your posts, but hey - we all have more important things to do sometimes! And don't listen to the haters, we're all unique in our own ways & that's what makes our blogs special. If they don't like it - they can suck it! Hope you come back soon :)

  2. I just want to let you know that your blog is awesome and I look forward to seeing your posts! I don't know what those negative nancies are going on about! I also have had naked nails more than I thought possible, but I just bought the ornate zoya collection but I can't wear them to work, and I've only wanting to wear those, so as a result I have had naked nails.

  4. It is wonderful to know everything is okay! I was missing your posts because love to read them so much! I understand what a cold climate can do to your poor nails, and winter is always frustrating. Don't let a couple of idiots discourage you, your nails don't have to be long to be gorgeous! Most women these days wear their nails short anyway and its important to have a bigger blogger with shorter, normal, practical nails!

  6. Good luck with the sale and the move! Also, there are a few big name bloggers whose nails/photos aren't as nice as some less well-known ones, so don't let that bother you. :)

  10. Heh - you know what you need to spend your time on...moving is always a huge ordeal. 'They say' moving and starting a new job are the hardest and most stressed filled things we do in life. As for anyone ever saying something negative on a blog - well they are not cool folks - period! I hate what Twitter, IMing, and all the lack of face to face communications have done to many folks. If you get fun from doing your nails and loaded them up with comments on your blog do it - plenty of us are out here that enjoy what you put up. You own the blog - you can always take down comments that are not to your liking. As far as your dried out weather and work abused hands/nails/cuticles - I feel ya there. I have seen mine go into winter molting phase as the weather finally decided to leave summer behind here where I live. I swear by tons of oil over things you rub on...my go to one is been Barielle Intensive Renewal Oil I do every night. I used to order it from B on line and sometimes bought it off eBay long ago. Now I found Sally's carries a Pro Line of Barielle treatments and it's name is a bit different there but it's the same product as the Intensive Renewal Oil. I also like their Nail Strengthening Cream. I found 2 yrs ago Barielle suggests using them together so I put the cream on first at bedtime and then the oil and I let them sit for a good 10 min before I beat the pillow into submission. I also will when reading or spend quite time, do oil on my fingers...anytime I can I get the oil on them. I also am an old medical field person (Clinical Laboratory Scientist) so I hear your pain with the gloves and washing chronically. We just cannot reach for lotion ever time we need to wash our hands like most folks would do..but when you can sit to chart - get the lotion on and watch what lotion it is - make sure it's not got a ton of alcohol in it like many do...don't just reach for the lotion the hospital or clinic buys to leave out for staff to use...or whoever in the crew bought and left out...keep your own best brand stuff you like in your pocket and use that. I personally like L'Occitane Shea Butter hand cream but it's $$$. I am always looking for good subs for it. Oh and I also switched (when I can) to use the hand sanitizer that is more lotion based like Gold Bond makes one that does not dry my hands out so badly. There are some foaming hand cleaner/sanitizers out there that are non alcohol base now too. You might want to bring it up to the Infection Control dept/RN for your hospital...that you have chronic seriously dry cracked hands. They watch for stuff like that and need to act on it to help protect the staff..just like when we all had to start to wear gloves (see I am dating myself - I predate when we wore gloves back to pre - HIV days which was the whole reason we all had to start to wear gloves - crazy it took that to put us into gloves..but that's where it started unless you needed to work in poop or were in a sterile field)...many used to be allergic to the first gloves that were heavy in latex and Infection control had to guy special gloves that were non latex to deal with all the folks who had hand break down. So get the hospital working for you on this one if you can to get decent cleaning products into the work place. They like to cut corners and we are to busy at work to even think 99% of the time about reaching for something to clean with that is not 'right there!'

  11. You know...blogging is a LOT of work. I think especially so for someone who does posts about nails because you need to constantly be doing your nails! So, no worries. :)

  12. Try and not let the downers get to you. From what little I've learnt about you , you come across as a very caring genuine person following their love of nail polish. It should all be for fun, so don't let some ruin it for you :)

  13. ummmm WTF? Do I need to open a can of whoopass on someone?!? Some people are pathetic and gain confidence by bashing others online. Clearly they have no spine, if that's what they have to do. Regardless, your nails are AWESOME. I follow some of the biggest nail bloggers out there, but I legit think you have nails/nail art that is JUST as good. It really is art, so screw anyone who says differently.

On another note, glad you're okay. I had wondered if you were okay! Good luck with moving, lady! :)
