LensVillage Dueba Crystal.i In Violet Review

Hiya beautiful! I've got something a little out of the mainstream nails and makeup that I normally talk about.

Recently I was able to try some lenses from LensVillage.com, an online e-tailer for circle lenses. They offer up to 400+ designs and colors. The products they carry are all Korea Food Drug Administration (FDA) certified brand lenses. They carry GEO Medical, EOS, Dueba, and Vassen.

I've been interested in circle lenses for awhile so I picked up a violet pair of lenses. I used to wear colored contacts and I loved how they changed my look and opened up my eyes! My small eyes seem smaller with dark brown eyes, so with a lighter color eye, it really makes a huge difference! While it's harder to wear light contacts on dark eyes (I'll never have baby blues or crystal green), if I choose a darker color, they look more natural. I can generally pull off violet, dark blue, dark green, and gray colors and not have them look super crazy!

The violet ones I am wearing below are the Dueba Crystal.i Violet

I did order the 14.2mm diameter, which is on the smaller end of what you can order. You can go all the way up to 16.5mm diameter to really enlarge your eyes. I've also heard the bigger they are, the more irritation you'll have at the beginning because your eye isn't used to having something that size on it (even if you wear regular contact lenses). Being that I have small eyes and I'm new to these, I went with the smallest options so they wouldn't be quite so dramatic. I'm so glad I did! I don't know if I could go larger in diameter or else I'd never get them in!

My eyes aren't symmetrical at all, which is why on my EOTD I only post one eye, my "good" eye! =P I tried to take some pictures with both that aren't 100% straight on so you can see the difference these contacts make.

When I first put them in, they were really irritating, like I had something under my contact or something was scratching my eye. After a few minutes, they felt fine. I wore them for about 5 hours the first time and I didn't need any rewetting drops for comfort. They grew more comfortable but I always could tell I was wearing contacts.

My husband really liked these on me. They looked fairly natural and the color let enough of my brown through that the violet looked natural.

Overall, I really enjoyed these contacts. They were comfortable and natural looking, despite being violet, and they really opened up my eyes.

  1. These are so cool! I've been wanting to try some colored lenses just for something out of the ordinary but I've always been so afraid about getting an eye infection from them. But I really want to try them now they look beautiful on you!

  2. Geeze - I would give anything to just be able to settle into being able to wear any contact lenses again, let alone all these pretty ones. After I had to have both lenses replaced due to cataracts I got from massive steroids I had to be put on, I have never tolerated my contacts since. I still need 'em to see because I was too young with the lens implants for the docs to put in implant that fully corrected my vision, needing to leave room for my eyeballs to go from their younger age vision to the mid 40 and 50 yr old changes when we all tend to get far sighted. So bummed because I know older folk who get implants and don't need contacts or glasses afterwards - they only need some readers. I am lucky that I have really green eyes - the kind folks often look at me and make remarks about how very green they are. Only down size of green eyes is needing to really watch the shades of brown shadows I use or any shadows that have a red shift to them - the old color wheel opposites give me that crying eye look.
