Julep Maven October Box - American Beauty

This is late and likely not news to some of you, but here is my October Julep Maven box!

I am an American Beauty, so above is my box I received for October. I received two nail polishes, Eloise and Sabrina, two nail art glitters in orange and black, and Quick Dry Polish Drops. There was also a small bag of candy corn in there, but with all candy I get in the mail, my husband grabs it while I'm fawning over the polish and he eats it before I know what happened. =/

I haven't tried the drops and I have two other brands of drops I'm currently using, and I don't use them that often, so I'm keeping this sealed in case I gift it or sell it. The nail art glitter looks promising, but again, I've got so many glitters that I'm not really using, I'm leaving those sealed.

Julep Eloise is a gorgeous deep blue creme with a slight hint of dustiness to it to make it slightly less bold and flashy. The formula on this was a little thick and goopy, so it required two coats for evenness.

Julep Sabrina is a medium dark orange shimmery purple crackle. This is one thick coat over Julep Eloise.

I know Julep got some flack for having a crackle included since it's not necessarily on trend, but for those that like something fun on their nails but don't do nail art, this is a nice addition to their polish stash. It did crackle better than most of my other crackles (which I do not have a lot to compare it to), so take that with a grain of salt!

Julep Maven Program

For those of you who may not know about the Julep Maven program, it's a monthly mail order nail polish program. For $20/mo you get a box of goodies, which generally includes two nail polishes (each retail for $14/ea so you've already saved money!) and extra goodies - quick dry polish drops, glitter, polish remover, lip gloss, mascara, lotion, scrubs, etc! Usually there is a little candy in there too. =P

The monthly polishes are chosen based on your style quiz you take when signing up. If course they let you know what you're getting every month and there is a window to change the box you get, add colors if you want more, pass on that month's box if it doesn't look interesting, or send it to someone else as a gift!

If you'd like to check it out you can CLICK HERE to take a style quiz and get set up. I believe the code SHAREONOCTOBER will get you the first box for just a penny.

  2. Thanks for sharing. I skipped mine this month. I wasn't too excited about the colors and I'm pretty crackled out.
