Deborah Lippmann Dream A Little Dream Of Me

You may remember me mentioning this forever ago when HSN had a ton of Deborah Lippmann polishes on sale. I picked up a handful because really, I'm weak and obsessed and those don't go well together.

Deborah Lippmann Dream A Little Dream Of Me is a gorgeous shimmery light pink with a blue flash. So this makes it ... a duochrome shimmer? Verdad? I'm still struggling with naming finishes of polishes.

I tried my best to capture the shimmer and I did a bit of layering at the end of the post so you can see it over a few different polishes.

Polishes Used (Left to right, Pinky to forefinger)
  • Deborah Lippmann Let's Hear It For the Boy (medium sky blue creme). Layering made the polish a lilac tinted color (blue+pink=lilac) with gorgeous blue shimmer
  • Deborah Lippmann Footloose (orange-red creme). Layering this one didn't change the base much but the blue shimmer really stands out
  • Sally Hansen Love Bug (light pink shimmer). Didn't do much, shimmer was lost in all the pink. I don't think layering a shimmer on a shimmer does much.
  • Barielle Car-ess (nude creme) Didn't change the base color much but that blue shimmer on a creme is oh so naughty!
The formula was great, no running or pooling. Dry time was average, I don't remember it being spectacular or super long. The polish itself doesn't do a lot for me since it's so sheer, but the layering options are fantastic, so overall, I'm a happy girl.

  1. Wow. I'm the furthest from a pink person but WOW.

  2. I am insane over this polish shade. I adore the glass fleck shimmer in it and the pink to blue gets my heart strings singing. This shade does for baby pink polish what we have seen for a # of yrs done in magenta/fuchsia. I am not a baby pink polish fan at all. But this one just turns up the this shade to something that is a real wow!

  3. Forgot to comment on your over-layering with this lovely shade. It's a great one to use like you said on some cream finishes. Makes me want to get out some of those shades that looked like they had something in the bottle that never translated to the nail.

  4. Lol weak and obsessed sounds like a good name for a blog. I totally understand where you are coming from too. I love the idea of Deborah Lippmann but I cannot afford her polishes. I broke down and bought Mermaids Dream just to say I have one in my collection but I can't see myself buying many more. I must say that I do like Let's hear it for the boy especially layered.

  5. I'd call it an iridescent shimmer? So very beautiful, but I'd have a hard time paying DL prices for it. Still, I especially like it layered over the blue and red. It really is stunning!

  6. I actually like this polish on its own! It looks sugary :)
