Week 28: Gradient Mani

Here we are with Week 28 of the 52 Week Challenge. This week called for a Gradient. They are all the rage now with the tutorial by Sammy, which I used for this manicure.

If you follow me, you likely remember this from yesterday's palm tree nail art. What can I say? I'm making sure to get the most out of my manicures.

And if you follow me on Instagram (@kaki_go) then you likely saw this picture...

Someone forgot the tape. I highly recommend taping before sponging. Be nice to your cuticles and they won't crack and bleed. I know Vaseline can be used to protect your surrounding skin from other messy manicures (ie splatter mani) but the more I think about it, I wouldn't recommend it on this kind. You'll likely pick up Vaseline while sponging and it'll get all over your nails and sponge.

Have you done any gradients lately? I'm curious to try a tri-color gradient. Any color combo recommendations?

  6. Beautiful gradient! I never realized that sponging could get messy like that, but it looks like it's worth it in the end.
