Buxom Lashliner in Sequins & Blue Velvet: Swatches + Review

Buxom Lashliner came out awhile back and I bought the two glitter forms (can we say duh?) and I used the blue one a few times and then put it aside. I started using them again when I went through the insane process of documenting my beauty stash and I remember how much I love them.

Buxom claims it not only defines your eyes but is a lash conditioner that makes your eyelashes longer and thicker. I have no idea if this is true because I haven't used it consistently on a long enough basis to test that out, but thought I'd mention it. They come in a sturdy little glass pot with a metal lid. They're not very big but they're rather bulky for the amount of product you get. Granted you don't need much, but it seems 2/3 of the pot is just glass or extra packaging. Seems kinda wasteful.

The liners:

This next picture is NOT color accurate by any means. I tried to get a picture that showed the texture of the liner. It's very soft and pliable. Below is Blue Velvet, and you can see I've been using it a lot! I lightened the picture (a ton!) so you can see that it's very soft and easy to pick up.

And some swatches.

Buxom Lashliner in Sequins. This liner is awesome. I've used it as a daily eyeliner when plain brown and black are boring. The glitter isn't very noticeable but it gives your eyes a little extra something. It would be great for a night out (if I ever went out, sigh). I can imagine it being more dramatic on someone who wears a thick line of eyeliner or a large wing, but for someone who uses a thin line, it's not too overpowering even for daily wear. This one isn't super black, it's more of a dark gray against the skin. It can be built up for a darker appearance.

Buxom Lashliner in Blue Velvet. This one is bright! I've used it a couple times, and my hubby loves it on me because he said it makes my brown eyes pop without being too much. Again, I just add a thin line above my eye, so you notice something is brighter and more noticeable, but not necessarily the "I'm-wearing-blue-eyeliner" bold look.

These wear well. I apply them with an eyeliner brush (Buxom sells one, which I bought, but you can use any brush you have) and you have about 30 seconds to smudge/blend them, then they set. They wear well and last 10-12 hours on me. I may have minimal smudging under my eyes, but that's my life, so it's not a deal breaker for me.

These retail for $16 each and are available exclusively at Sephora (it seems it's only available in Leatherette, Sequins, and Suede at the time of this post).
