I know these polishes have been huge - the fugly green, army green, dirty olive, etc. I got into polish either during or after this craze, so I really don't have many. I saw this one and it looked interesting...
Essie Armed and Ready is an army green with a soft golden shimmer. It's actually a nice color - neutral without being boring with a hint of femininity.

And just because I liked the polish but I felt it needed some sprucing after a few days, I added a single coat of Essie As Gold As It Gets, which is a crushed gold flakie. I like the combination - it adds more golden shimmer to the polish which is what I wished it had in the first place.

Any other thoughts on layering for As Gold As It Gets? I bought the collection but I'm not that thrilled with it, and am looking for other color combos so I can use it more often!
I really like this but I wish the shimmer was a bit more visible.
