Maybelline EyeStudio Color Explosion Luminizing Eyeshadow in Pink Punch

Pink eyeshadow for a month that begs every woman to wear pink.

Maybelline EyeStudio Color Explosion Luminizing Eyeshadow in Pink Punch. That's quite a mouthful.

According to Maybelline.com...
Exclusive luminizer combines with pigments for PURE IMPACT,
EXQUISITE COLOR. IGNITED BY LIGHT.
Exquisite color. Ignited by light. Now explosive eyes are born.
Yeah, yeah. Ignited, explosive, yadda yadda. Did someone say something about a luminizer? I am in love with this stuff. I honestly bought it just for that.

Swatches below are on bare hand, swatched lightly. You can click to enlarge to see the colors a bit better. And the luminizer is the far right color. So pretty.

Color payoff wasn't the best. The below eye looks are over UDPP. They blended well, but addition of more shadow didn't equal more color. Sad.

First look has more pink and I used the luminizer over the eyelid.

Close up of look with luminizer. You can click to enlarge to see the pretty sparkles. It's not in your face glitter but a nice sparkle that blends nicely with your eyeshadow, almost like it makes it frosty. I bet you can put it over any shadow and it would blend seamlessly.

Of course that dang luminizer likes to fall all over your cheeks! Still trying different ways to apply it that don't waste much of it...

And another less pink look. I didn't use the darkest color nor the luminizer for this one. I wore this one to work. The pinks didn't make my eyes look red, which is what I was expecting, and the colors were very flattering for my brown eyes. I bet they would look killer on green or blue eyes.

All in all, I'm not sure they're worth it. I love the luminizer, but I wish it were available separately. The shadows are pretty, but don't have much color payoff. They are a bit chalky, but blend nicely, and have decent wear time over primer. I wear mainly neutral/low key eyeshadow because of my job, so I don't mind the weak colors, but someone who likes darker/intense shadows may not like these.

Anyone have these? Thoughts? I also have the brown and green versions. =)

These eyeshadows are available everywhere Maybelline is sold and retails for $10.99. I bought mine at Walgreen's or CVS, but they're available at Ulta, and I'm sure you can get them cheaper when Maybelline is on sale.
