Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Smokey Brown Eyes

Actually if you want to get technical, the full name is Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow and Liner Smokey Brown Eyes, but who has time to write that all day?

I'm sure a lot of you are familiar with Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips. They have all sorts of different ones now - regular, smoky, etc. - and they're all set up pretty much the same way. Long clear container with nine shades (three trios) that are supposed to play up the colors of a certain eye color. While I like the idea that they are friendly toward people who have limited color selection and would like a set of eyeshadows with variety and no thinking needed matching colors, I like some of the colors in other sets (I also bought the Smoky Green Eyes and I don't have green eyes, eek!) so I figure, buy what you like to wear!

Each set of three is supposed to be a coordinating liner with two shadows, but you can mix and match to your hearts content! It is very shimmery so I do like to have a shadow or two on hand that are matte to tone it down a bit in some places.

On to the good stuff!

I like this set. I do like the colors, I find them flattering for brown eyes. They have decent pigmentation but are more intense over primer. I didn't have any problems blending. Good staying power.

Here is a quick look I did with this strip. I can't remember what all I used, but I know I used the 2nd color (medium purple), 8th color (light purple), and 5th color (medium gray) and maybe some others for blending.

  1. I've seen these, but haven't picked any up yet. If I do I think I will go with the nude pallet!

  2. Thanks!

Polish and Charms. I saw that one, and Santa (ie me!) bought it. It's in my stash to photo before I rip into it!
